Explore the Beaches of the Dominican Republic.
Beaches throughout the Dominican Republic are truly unspoiled, pristine paradises. The areas around the north coast are particularly so because of the lush tropical landscaping coming right to the beach edge. Golden sand beaches, warm ocean waters and some of the most picturesque scenery in the world are waiting for you here on the north coast.
While you are at Golden Dolphin Estate you will be able to go visit all of the local beaches, and you should. Each one of the magnificent beaches has its own character and attributes which make it unique. Check them out; you will be happy you did!
Once identified by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the Top Ten Beaches in the World, Playa Grande (Big Beach) is well over a kilometer long of white / golden sand beach. The beach is perfect for play or relaxation while the local Dominicans are happy to prepare you a sumptuous beach lunch, cold cerveza (beer) or tasty pina colada. The rugged sea cliffs on either end of the beach help create perfect conditions for surfing or boogie boarding. This is paradise, and you found it!
Almost adjacent to Playa Grande is the beautiful, unspoiled beach called Preciosa (Precious). The name is self-explanatory once you visit this stunning beach, almost ½ km in length, of absolute beauty. It is a precious piece of the Dominican Republic and definitely a beach destination you have to visit.
Only a few moments drive from your luxury vacation villa is the one-of-a-kind Playa Diamonte (Diamond Beach). Nestled in a small bay and protected by sea cliffs on either side, Playa Diamonte has an exceptionally gentle slope into the ocean. Often you can walk up to 100 meters into the water and the ocean will still only be chest deep. A perfect location to bring the children to watch them play while you sip on a cooling tropical drink prepared by the local bar.
Orchid Bay Beach
Surrounded by some of the most gorgeous villas in the Caribbean is the ½ kilometer long golden sand beach at Orchid Bay. Publicly accessible (as all beaches are), the beach at Orchid Bay is largely unused and therefore very pristine and enjoyable.
Destined to be one of the most popular beaches in the Caribbean, Playa Entrada is a massive 3km golden sand beach that has everything a beach could hope for. Safe and playful coves, excellent surfing conditions and enough wind to power all the windsurfers and kiteboarders who will discover it. For now, though, it is still largely unpopulated and just waiting for your family to visit. Bring along something to eat and drink, though, as there are no local providers on the beach (yet)!
Playa El Breton
Another of the hidden gems known only to the locals treasuring this area is the beach at Cabo Francis, a national park. Nestled between sea cliffs, this secluded beach offers a perfect destination for more snorkeling or beachcombing. Who knows what will wash onto the shores overnight?
Just past the famous Playa Grande Golf Course can be found one of those beaches you only see in pictures. But this one is real! A beautiful crescent shaped beach, shallow and inviting, Playa Caleton is one of the most popular local beaches and will be yours as well.
These are only a sampling of the many beautiful beaches within just a very few miles of our luxury villa rental here in the Dominican Republic. Venture a little further and you will find even more. The Dominican Republic beaches are beautiful, unspoiled and waiting here for your enjoyment!
